It’s October! Surprise! The election is one month away, and there’s a lot happening: the President has COVID, and so might a bunch of Minnesota lawmakers; Angie Craig’s race has been upended (and possibly postponed?!) by the death of one of her opponents; and “ballot harvesting” is suddenly in the news for no good reason. Plus, to quell fears about voter suppression, we chat with DFL Deputy Director for Voter Protection, Rachel Dame, who gives us the deets on all the efforts in place to protect the vote. We wrap the episode with two spotlight candidates running for the MN House — Brittney Johnson & Kaela Berg. It’s a packed episode, so grab an apple cider donut and a chunky cardigan, and let’s go save democracy.
Meet Our Guest – Rachel Dame
Rachel is the Deputy Director for Voter Protection at the Minnesota DFL. She develops training for Poll Challengers, coordinates & staffs the Voter Protection Hotline, and overall, is working to ensure all eligible Minnesotans have access to a free and fair election.
